Donald Trump has left the White House for the final time as US president, ahead of the inauguration of Joe Biden.
Trump said, “This has been an incredible four years. We accomplished so much together. I want to thank my family, friends and my staff. Want to thank you for your effort,” Trump said.
“I will always fight for you. I will be watching, listening. The future of this country has never been better. I wish the new administration great luck and success,” Trump said.
It is the first time that a sitting president has rejected the tradition of attending his successor’s inauguration.
President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will take the oath of office in some time.
