Discus thrower Vinod Kumar loses Paralympics bronze, declared ineligible in classification reassessment

Indian 41-years old discus thrower Vinod Kumar has lost the bronze medal at men’s F52 discus throw event after being found ‘ineligible’ in disability classification assessment.

It confirmed the organizers through an official statement on Monday, issued by the technical delegates.

Vinod had won the bronze medal in the men’s discus throw in the F52 category event on Sunday itself, but the result was put on hold after some countries protested against him.

Later, his bronze medal has been declared invalid due to the classification of disorder.

India is constantly getting good news from the ongoing Paralympics Games in Tokyo. On the other hand, the country has also got disappointment on Monday. One medal has been reduced from the medals received by the country.

Vinod Kumar was found ineligible in disability classification assessment by the competition panel.
