Amid stand-off between the Shiv Sena and the BJP over government formation in Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis met Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday evening.
According to the sources, Fadnavis held a closed-door meeting with Bhagwat on the present political situation in the state.
Fadnavis met Gadkari in Delhi yesterday after his meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The BJP and its ally Shiv Sena combine won state elections but the two alliance partners have not been able to decide on forming the government.
Since the Assembly election results were announced on October 24, alliance partners Shiv Sena and the BJP have come at loggerheads regarding the much talked about 50-50 formula for power sharing in the state which according to Sena chief that the two had talked about before the election earlier this year. However, the BJP is not ready to accept the 50-50 formula.
The BJP won 105 seats. Shiv Sena at 56, the NCP 54 and the Congress 44. The majority mark is 145. Others have registered 29 seats.
