COVID-19 cases in India rise to 13,85,522; Death toll at 32,063

The number of coronavirus cases in India have risen to 13,85,522 as it recorded 48,661 fresh infections in the last 24 hours. A total of 32,063 coronavirus patients have lost their lives, the Union Health Ministry said on Sunday.

There are 4,67,882 active cases while 8,85,576 have been cured/discharged, according to Health Ministry data.

Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in the country. The total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 3,66,368 with 13,389 fatalities.

Tamil Nadu has the second highest COVID-19 cases – 2,06,737 with 3,409 deaths followed by Delhi – 1,29,531 and 3,806 deaths, Karnataka – 90,942 with 1,796 deaths, Andhra Pradesh – 88,671 and 985 deaths, Uttar Pradesh – 63,742 and 1,387 deaths West Bengal – 56,377 and 1,332 deaths and Gujarat – 54,626 and 2,300 fatalities.

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Sunday said a total of 1,62,91,331 samples have been tested up to July 25 of which 4,42,263 samples were tested yesterday.
