Coronavirus Outbreak: US president Donald Trump declares National Emergency

US President Donald Trump on Friday declared National emergency in the country to combat the situation occurred due to Coronavirus Outbreak.

In a press conference held at the White House Rose Garden, Trump said, “To unleash the full power of the federal government, I’m officially declaring a national emergency. Two very big words. The action I am taking will open up access to up to $50 billion of very important and a large amount of money for states and territories and localities in our shared fight against this disease.”

Talking about the availability of tests for the coronavirus, Trump said, “About half a million additional tests will be available early next week, which will bring probably 1.4 million tests till next week and five million in a month to detect and stop the spread of the virus.”

Trump also urged ” every state to set up emergency operation centers effectively immediately. He also asked every hospital in the country to activate emergency preparedness plan to meet the needs of Americans everywhere.”

The number of cases in US are increasing rapidly with New York state confirming more than 400 cases of coronavirus.
