Coronavirus cases jump to 89 in Maharashtra

The number of coronavirus cases in Maharashtra rose to 89 with 15 new positive cases reported in the last 24 hours, officials said on Monday.

Of the new cases, 14 are in Mumbai and one in Pune, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said.

“There are total 89 positive Coronavirus cases in the state including 14 new cases in Mumbai and one in Pune,” Tope said.

Meanwhile, the death toll in Maharashtra has increased to three after a 68-yer-old Philippines man, who tested positive for coronavirus and had recovered earlier, died in Mumbai.

The total number of positive coronavirus cases in India jumps to 415, Health Ministry said.

PM Modi today urged the citizens to take the lockdown seriously and follow instructions by the authorities amid the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
