India’s COVID-19 cases has risen to 2,56,611 with 7,135 fatalities. There are 1,25,381 active cases while 1,24,094 have been cured/discharged, the Health Ministry said on Monday.
Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in the country. The total number of COVID-19 cases has jumped to 85,975 with 3,060 fatalities, according to Health Ministry.
Tamil Nadu continues to be the second-worst hit state with 31,667 Covid-19 cases and 269 deaths, followed by Delhi with 27,654 cases and 761 deaths, Gujarat – 20,070 cases and 1,249 fatalities.
A total of 47,74,434 samples have been tested as on June 8, of which 1,08,048 samples have been tested in last 24 hours, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said.
