Coronavirus cases cross 4000 mark in India, death toll touches 109

A total of 4,067 coronavirus cases have been reported in India and the death toll has jumped to 109. The total active cases in the country stands at 3666 and 291 people have been cured/discharged from the disease, the Health Ministry said on Monday.

Maharashtra has recorded maximum number of cases followed by Tamil Nadu and Delhi.

Government is taking several steps along with the States/UTs for the prevention, containment and management of COVID-19 in the country. These are being regularly reviewed and monitored at the highest level, as per the official release.

The Cabinet Secretary interacted with Chief Secretaries and Health Secretaries of all the States/UTs, and DM, SSP, CMO, IDSP Staff of all districts through a Video Conference (VC), on Sunday. He directed all DMs to ensure that the Pharma units for manufacturing medicines & medical equipment are smoothly run.

On Sunday night, people across the country switched off lights and lit diyas and candles on PM Modi’s appeal to fight the darkness spread by COVID-19 pandemic.
