The Congress and the National Conference on Wednesday formed a pre-poll alliance in J&K by entering into a seat-sharing pact.
The announcement was made by the Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad and the NC president Dr Farooq Abdullah.
According to the pact, Congress will field candidates in two parliamentary seats of Jammu. Dr Farooq Abdullah will contest from Srinagar parliamentary seat in Kashmir Valley. Interestingly, the parties will have “friendly fights” in two places — Baramulla and Anantnag constituencies of Kashmir.
The discussions are still on for the Lok Sabha seat of Ladakh.
J&K has six Lok Sabha seats in total.
