Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday boarded public buses to get feedback from women passengers, a day after Delhi government launched the free-ride scheme for women in DTC buses.
While replying to a tweet, Kejriwal said, “I boarded a few buses just now to get direct feedback from women. In addition to students, working women, women going for shopping, I also met a few who have to visit doc regularly. They are also v happy.”
“The presence of bus marshals is creating a sense of safety amongst women and fear amongst eve-teasers,” Kejriwal added.
The chief minister further said, “Today all our sisters in Delhi have become VIPs. Till now only MP and MLAs used to get free tours. Now the journey of all women was also free.”
According to AAP’s tweet, “2 lakh 20 thousand women took advantage of the scheme on Tuesday.”
