Two Naxals were killed in a gunfight with security forces in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh in early hours of Wednesday, police said.
The exchange of fire took place around 5 am in the morning, between Naxals and a joint team of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Special Task Force (STF) in Gonderas jungle.
According to the sources, bodies of two Naxals, a man and a woman, were recovered from the site of encounter. An INSAS rifle and a 12-bore weapon with ammunition and other incriminating items were also recovered.
There were no reports of casualties from the security forces. However, a search operation is underway in the area.
