CBI Director Alok Verma on Wednesday returned to his office in Delhi following Supreme Court orders which scrapped Centre’s order of divesting him from his powers and sending him on forced leave.
Verma has returned to work after almost two-and-a-half months.
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court had reinstated Alok Kumar Verma as CBI Director by overturning Centre’s decision.
However, the court restrained Verma from taking any policy decision until the high-powered committee takes a decision on allegations against Verma. He has been authorised to carry out routine works.
Alok Verma and his deputy Rakesh Asthana were both sent on leave in October amid a bitter feud between the two.
Verma is due to retire on January 31.
