Bombay High Court reserves order on Kangana Ranaut’s plea against BMC demolition

The Bombay High Court on Monday reserved its order on a petition filed by actor Kangana Ranaut against the demolished portions of her bungalow by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

On November 9, the Court stayed the demolition drive of BMC at Ranaut’s Mumbai property.

Her lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui filed a petition in the High court against the BMC demolition drive at Ranaut’s property.

The BMC has maintained that Ranaut unlawfully carried out substantial work of alterations and additions at the building, contrary to the sanctioned building plan.

The 33-year-old actor had sought compensation of Rs 2 crore from the BMC for damages.

The demolition had come at a time when Ranaut was engaged in a bitter war of words with Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut.
