BJP releases Manifesto for Delhi Assembly Elections, promises to change future of city

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday released ‘Delhi Sankalp Patra’, its manifesto for Delhi Assembly polls, and asserted that the party will change the future of city.

The election document was released in the presence of senior party leader Nitin Gadkari, Union ministers Harsh Vardhan, Prakash Javadekar, Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari and other leaders.

Promises by the BJP in its Manifesto:

EFFECTIVE PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM: Aata (wheat flour) will be provided to poor families at a subsidized rate of Rs. 2 per kilogram through the Public Distribution System.

Jal Jeevan Mission, the party will also provide clean drinking water to every household.

MODERN AMENITIES AND OWNERSHIP RIGHTS: The important issue of NOCs for self-allotment societies will be resolved on priority.

FOCUS ON RURAL AND AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT: Individuals engaged in occupation, like potters, barbers, blacksmiths etc., will be provided easy loans at favourable rates.

QUALITY POWER AND CLEAN ENERGY: The party will incentivize installation of solar panels in houses, colonies, offices and factories.

JUSTICE TO THE VICTIMS OF 1984 RIOTS: Jobs will be given to one child of the victims who lost earning family members during the 1984 riots.

PROMOTION OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY: The party is committed to make Delhi a Services Hub of international standing to ensure rapid economic development.

The government will formulate a scheme to encourage and provide financial assistance to cycle rickshaw pullers to switch to e-Rickshaws, the manifesto said.

Among other promises, the saffron party has also promised to implement Central government’s schemes Ayushman Bharat and Kisan Samman Nidhi in the national capital.

Delhi will go to polls on February 8 and the counting of votes will take place on February 11.
