Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday visited Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) in Muzaffarpur, where children have died due to Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES).
The death toll has reached 108 on Tuesday. According to the reports, 89 children have died in SKMCH and 19 in Kejriwal Hospital.
Nitish Kumar interacted with the doctors and met the parents of the ailing children, sources said.
On Sunday, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan visited SKMCH to review the situation as the number of casualties from the AES and Japanese Encephalitis (JE) cases continue to rise.
Dr Harsh Vardhan had said that the Health Ministry is constantly monitoring the situation and supporting the State health authorities in managing the Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) and Japanese Encephalitis (JE) cases.
He also held discussions with doctors of SKMCH from Muzaffarpur.
