The Home Ministry has issued a warning to all the states and has put out rules in which no one can come too close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, not even his ministers and officers, in wake of inputs of an “all-time high” threat to PM Modi.
“PM Modi is the most valuable target in the run-up to the 2019 general elections,” the National Security Council has told various agencies who are tasked with PM’s security and safety.
“The threat always has been there but after this Naxal threat we have made each agency aware of the new threats to the PM,” a senior officer reportedly said.
Following the developments, Home Minister Rajnath Singh held a meeting with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba and Intelligence Bureau Director Rajiv Jain to review the prime minister’s security.
