As many as 24 people who were present at the Markaz building in Delhi’s Nizamuddin have tested positive for coronavirus, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said on Tuesday.
Jain said that the government is not certain of the number, but it is estimated that 1,500-1,700 people were present at the Markaz building.
Jain said event’s organisers have committed a grave crime.
The Delhi Health Minister said people from Markaz building, Nizamuddin continue to be shifted to hospital and quarantine centers. “Around 1033 people have been evacuated, 334 hospitalised and 700 sent to quarantine centers,” he added.
A high-level meeting is underway at the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over COVID-19 issues emerging out of Markaz Nizamuddin, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia Health Minister Satyendar Jain and other officials are present at the meeting.
