At least 14 people were injured on early Saturday after 12 coaches of the Howrah-New Delhi Poorva Express derailed near Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, railways officials said.
The train was travelling to New Delhi when the incident occurred at around 12.50 am near Rooma village about 15 km from Kanpur.
No causalities have been reported in the incident. However, several trains have been diverted or cancelled as the work to clear the railway line is underway.
The senior officials reached the spot and supervised the rescue operation. A 45-member team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were also rushed to the spot.
The passengers were brought to the Kanpur Central railway station, from where they left for New Delhi in a train at around 5.45 am, sources said.
