A group of three-four terrorists who were travelling in a truck opened fire at a police team stationed at a toll plaza on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, injuring a policeman, officials said on Friday.
According to the reports, three terrorists were killed in the ensuing gunfight.
The firing occurred at around 5 am when the police team stopped a Srinagar-bound truck for checking near the toll plaza in the Bann area of Nagrota, official said.
Jammu and Kashmir Police in a tweet said, “Police intercepted a Srinagar bound truck at #Bann Toll Plaza on #Jammu-#Srinagar #Highway.The truck bound terrorists fired on police triggering an encounter. One police man injured,one terrorist killed.#Encounter going on.More details to follow.”
