The authorities in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday decided to close the Zojilla Pass for the vehicular movement from tomorrow.
Zojilla, located at an elevation of 3.536m (11,601ft) is a high mountain pass that connects Ladakh with Kashmir Valley.
Chief Engineer BRO Brig Saket Singh told media that the pass has remained open till January 6 for the first time.
In spite of heavy snowfall at Zojila, BRO under Project Beacon ensured opening of the Pass and facilitated connectivity to Ladakh region.
However, he said in view of the forecast of inclement weather, it shall be officially closed for the vehicular movement from tomorrow
