The wreckage of Indian Air Force AN-32 aircraft that went missing with 13 on board has been found in Arunachal Pradesh.
The wreckage has been spotted 16 kilometres north of Lipo in Arunachal Pradesh by Mi-17 helicopters, the Indian Air Force said on Tuesday.
“The wreckage of the missing #An32 was spotted today 16 Kms North of Lipo, North East of Tato at an approximate elevation of 12000 ft by the #IAF Mi-17 Helicopter undertaking search in the expanded search zone,” the Indian Air Force said in a tweet.
“Efforts are now continuing to establish the status of occupants & establish survivors. Further details will be communicated as the recovery actions progress,” the Indian Air Force added.
On June 3, IAF AN-32 transport aircraft went missing after taking off from Assam’s Jorhat.
It took off from Jorhat at 12.25 pm for Menchuka Advance Landing ground in Arunachal Pradesh and lost contact after 1 pm. A total of 8 crew members and 5 passengers were onboard the aircraft.
