After the gap of two years since coronavirus outbreak, the fair is being held in Delhi and more than 1000 publishers from 40 countries are participating in it.
With India celebrating 75 years of Independence, Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of our Culture and achievements. With various activities the New Delhi World Book fair has chosen “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” as its theme. There is a Children Pavilion promoting Children’s literature and reading habits such as skits, drama, plays, story telling sessions, workshops are organized in the Children pavilion. One can witness the huge participation of children from government schools, private schools, NGOs and other organizations.
To pay tribute to our Heroes of India’s struggle, the Education Ministry has launched a Yuva prime minister scheme for mentoring young writers. Government of India has launched PM-YUVA Mentorship Scheme to train young and budding authors below the age of 30 years. One can witness the Pictures of freedom Fighters with their details. With an idea of enhancing and sharing literary ideas, an Author”s Corner as well as International Events corner is also found. The foreign Exhibitors, Embassies, Cultural Centres and Publishers are encouraged to book slots for organizing book launches, literary programs, and workshops for children and Adults. The Authors corners is also designed in various halls of the fair, one can find Lekhak manch, Sahitya manch, sharing the ideas and literature.
The World Book Fair 2023 have already started in New Delhi. In addition to Books one can also witness cultural program such as Songs, Drama division, Sahitya Kala Parishad, in the evening. The foreign artists are also participating in the fair, receiving appreciations from all quarters of the country.
The New Delhi World Book fair is scheduled from 25 february to 5 March at centrally located Pragati Maidan. So go fast and grab this opportunity.
