Noida: A 50-year-old woman, identified as Situ Talwar, allegedly died by suicide after taking an e-rickshaw to the multi-level parking facility in Sector 18, Noida, and jumping from the second floor of the structure, police said.
According to the police, Talwar, a resident of Sector 29, Noida, hired an e-rickshaw to reach the parking complex on Saturday afternoon. She then went to the second floor of the multi-level parking facility and allegedly jumped, sustaining critical injuries.
After receiving a PCR call, police rushed to the spot and shifted her to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Her family members were also informed and reached the scene shortly afterward.
Preliminary investigation suggests it to be a case of suicide. Police said Situ Talwar had reportedly been suffering from depression for nearly 20 years and had been under considerable stress in recent days. However, officials said all angles are being examined as part of the investigation.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, while CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being reviewed to establish the sequence of events. Further investigation is underway.
