India has reported 97,894 new cases of coronavirus and 1,132 deaths in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 tally in the country now stands at 51,18,253, while the death toll rose to 83,198, according to Health Ministry data.
Of the total cases, 40,25,079 have been cured/discharged/migrated. There are 10,09,976 active cases of COVID-19 in India.
The recovery rate among coronavirus patients stands at 78.64%.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said over 6.05 crore samples have been tested up to September 16 of which 11,36,613 samples were tested yesterday.
