India has reported 89,706 new cases of coronavirus and 1,115 deaths in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 tally in the country now stands at 43,70,128, while the death toll rose to 73,890, according to Health Ministry data.
Of the total cases, 33,98,844 have been cured/discharged/migrated. There are 8,97,394 active cases of COVID-19 in India.
The recovery rate among coronavirus patients stands at 77.8%.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said over 5.18 crore samples have been tested up to September 8 of which 11,54,549 samples were tested yesterday.
