India has reported 78,761 new cases of coronavirus and 948 deaths in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 tally in the country now stands at 35,42,733, while the death toll rose to 63,498, according to Health Ministry data.
Of the total cases, 27,13,933 have been cured/discharged/migrated. There are 7,65,302 active cases of COVID-19 in India.
The recovery rate among coronavirus patients stands at 76.6%.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said over 4.14 crore samples have been tested up to August 29 of which 10,55,027 samples were tested yesterday.
