India has reported 70,589 new cases of coronavirus and 776 deaths in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 tally in the country now stands at 61,45,291, while the death toll rose to 96,318, according to Health Ministry data.
Of the total cases, 51,01,397 have been cured/discharged/migrated. There are 9,47,576 active cases of COVID-19 in India.
The recovery rate among coronavirus patients stands at 83.01%.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said over 7.31 crore samples have been tested up to September 28 of which 11,42,811 samples were tested yesterday.
