India has reported 70,496 new cases of coronavirus and 964 deaths in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 tally in the country now stands at 69,06,151, while the death toll rose to 1,06,490, according to Health Ministry data.
Of the total cases, 59,06,069 have been cured/discharged/migrated. There are 8,93,592 active cases of COVID-19 in India.
The recovery rate among coronavirus patients stands at 85.52%.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said over 8.46 crore samples have been tested up to October 8 of which 11,68,705 samples were tested yesterday.
