West Bengal: Three BJP activists arrested for raising ‘goli maro’ slogan during party rally

BJP Yuva Morcha President Suresh Shaw and two-party workers have been arrested for allegedly raising ‘goli maro…’ (shoot the traitors) slogan at a road show of party leader Suvendu Adhikario in Chandannagar city of Hooghly, police said on Thursday.

They will be produced before the court, in connection with “desh ke gaddaron ko, goli maaro saalo ko” slogan raised at BJP rally yesterday.

The slogan was raised by a few BJP activists, holding the party flag along with the tricolour while they were trailing a truck carrying Adhikari and Hooghly MP Locket Chatterjee in the Rathtala area of the city. 

On Wednesday, the police registered a suo motu case and arrested some BJP activists who had allegedly raised the slogan at a party programme in West Bengal’s Hooghly district, sources said.
