
The Delhi Police on Tuesday arrested a criminal wanted in 13 year old murder case of his aunt in an ongoing property dispute, in New Delhi.
According to police, the accused has been identified as Babloo (41), a resident of Chandni Chowk who was declared proclaimed offender on July 9, 2012.
“In a swift and well-coordinated operation, the Cyber Cell, Crime Branch, Delhi Police, has arrested a wanted criminal who was declared a Proclaimed Offender in a murder case registered at PS Welcome,” the police said.
A dedicated Cyber Cell team led by Insp. Manjeet Kumar, under the supervision of Anil Sharma, ACP, Cyber Cell, executed the operation successfully.
The team comprising SI Pravesh Kumar Rathi, ASI Kanwarpal, HC Anuj Kumar, HC Manish Dabas, and HC Vinod, on Aug 11, 2025, after verifying the authenticity of the input, conducted a meticulously planned raid near Jain School, Ansari Raod, Dariyaganj, Delhi.
“The team, fully prepared for immediate engagement and lawful arrest, moved swiftly and apprehended the accused after a brief chase,” police added.
The police said that the accused is illiterate and comes from a family with a history of criminal activities. He took shelter in multiple cities, including Nagpur, Hyderabad, Jaipur, and Gogamedi, continuously concealing his identity and whereabouts.
On Jan 29, 2012, accused persons Ashok, Bharat, Heera, Sonu, and Babloo poured kerosene oil on Rajrani, second wife of Bharat and set her ablaze due to an ongoing property dispute over her claim to her husband’s property.
