Launch and Market Positioning
Vivo has officially introduced the V80 Lite 5G, expanding its mid-range smartphone portfolio with a device that prioritises battery life and display quality. The handset has been launched in Pakistan, with the Indian market expected to receive it in the coming weeks.
In Pakistan, the phone is priced at PKR 1,24,999 (roughly ₹43,000) for the base 8GB+128GB variant, while the 8GB+256GB model costs PKR 1,45,999 (approximately ₹50,000). Industry insiders suggest the Indian pricing could be more competitive, potentially ranging between ₹28,999 and ₹34,999, aligning with Vivo’s typical pricing strategy for the V-series.
Display: A Premium Feature at Mid-Range Price
The V80 Lite 5G sports a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution (2,800 x 1,260 pixels). The curved-edge design gives it a premium look, while the claimed peak brightness of 3,000 nits ensures visibility even under direct sunlight.
At 449 pixels per inch (PPI), the display offers sharp text and vibrant colours, making it suitable for content consumption and gaming.
Performance: Dimensity 7360-Turbo Powers Daily Tasks
The smartphone is driven by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7360-Turbo chipset, built on a 4nm process. This octa-core processor, with a maximum clock speed of 2.5GHz, is designed to handle everyday multitasking, social media, and moderate gaming without significant lag.
Paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, the phone should manage multiple apps in the background efficiently. Storage options include 128GB and 256GB, both using UFS 3.1 technology for faster app loading and file transfers.
Camera: 50MP Primary Sensor for Everyday Photography
On the rear, the V80 Lite 5G features a dual-camera arrangement: a 50-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor for portrait photography. While Vivo has not disclosed the exact sensor model, some reports indicate it could be a Sony IMX852, though this remains unconfirmed.
For selfies and video calls, the phone houses a 32-megapixel front camera with an f/2.0 aperture, positioned in a hole-punch cutout at the top-centre of the display.
Battery Life: One of the Largest in Its Segment
The most compelling feature of the V80 Lite 5G is its 7,050mAh battery, which is significantly larger than the typical 5,000mAh cells found in most mid-range phones. This should easily provide two days of moderate usage or a full day of heavy use.
Charging is supported via a 44W fast charger, which Vivo includes in the box.
Software and Durability
The phone ships with Android 16-based OriginOS 6, making it one of the first devices to feature Google’s latest mobile operating system out of the box.
Durability is another highlight, with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, a feature rarely seen in this price bracket. The phone measures 164.42 x 75.25 x 7.99mm and weighs 197 grams, maintaining a slim profile despite the large battery.
Connectivity and Additional Features
The V80 Lite 5G supports dual 5G SIMs with active 4G on both slots, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.40, GPS, and USB Type-C with OTG support. An in-display fingerprint sensor provides biometric security, while the stereo speakers enhance media consumption.
