Vaccination for 15-18 commences, 600,000 adolescents have register for their shots

India’s Covid-19 vaccination drive for 15 to 18 year olds that commences on Monday, over 600,000 adolescents have registered for their Covaxin shots.

Amidst surge of Covid-19 cases, around six lakh teens have registered in the government’s CoWin portal and all will get a dose of Covaxin. However, India’s estimated population in the 14 to 17 category is around three crore.

The total number of Omicron cases surged to 1, 525. In which Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Kerala reported the maximum number of people affected with Omicron.

The vaccination programe is being held at hospitals, schools, other educational institutions and health centres.
