Two coaches of a goods train on Saturday derailed in Farukkhabad district of Uttar Pradesh, a railway official said.
According to reports, the incident took place near Rajepur village, 1 kilometre from the Kamalganj station.
Due to the incident, rail traffic on the Farukhabad-Kanpur route was disrupted.
According to the official, the guard of a train was seriously injured and rushed to a nearby medical facility for further treatment.
Sources said, over 500 metres the rail tracked was ripped off and all passenger trains on the route were stopped. However, the official said the work is under progress and the track is likely to be repaired by Saturday afternoon.
The reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained and investigation into the matter is underway.
