Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday embarks on her political journey with a mega road show in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
This will be Vadra’s first roadshow after her appointment as General Secretary in-charge of Eastern Uttar Pradesh.
She will be accompanied by her brother and Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Jyotiraditya Scindia, in-charge of Western Uttar Pradesh.
“Congress President @RahulGandhi will be in Lucknow today with AICC General Secretaries & Incharges UP East & West Smt. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra & Shri @JM_Scindia,” Congress tweeted.
Priyanka’s roadshow in Lucknow will also be the Congress’s first mega show of strength in Uttar Pradesh ahead of Lok Sabha elections.
According to the reports, Priyanka will reach Lucknow airport in the afternoon and from there a roadshow to party headquarters will be taken out.
Priyanka and other leaders are expected to address a press conference soon after the roadshow ends.
Ahead of her mega road show, Priyanka released an audio message and appealed to the party workers to initiate a “new kind of politics” in which everyone will be a stakeholder.
“I have hope in my heart that together we will start a new kind of politics, a politics in which all of you will be stakeholders — my young friends, my sisters, and even the weakest person, all their voices will be heard. Come, let’s build a new future, new politics with me,” Priyanka said through the Congress’s Shakti App.
