The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the United States has surged past 550,000 with more than 21,000 deaths, according to the data from the Johns Hopkins University.
The country has reported 1,514 COVID-19 deaths in the past 24 hours.
The death toll in the United States has already surpassed that of Italy and Spain.
The virus which was first originated in China’s Wuhan has so far infected more than 1.7 million worldwide.
