26th July is celebrated as ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’ in the country. Ex- Servicemen Welfare Minister Sambhaji Patil- Nilangekar informed that on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, free screenings of the movie – ‘Uri- The Surgical Strike’ will be hosted all over the theatres in the country to create the feeling of responsibility and respect towards the army in the hearts of youth of the country.
Department of Ex-servicemen Welfare had a talk with the film distributers, theatre owners and film organizations in a meeting held at Sahyadri guest house. Principal Secretary of the department Valsa Nair-Singh and other officers were present in the meeting. Nilangekar told, main objective behind the free screening of this movie is to ignite nationalism in the youth. As Kargil Vijay Diwas is an important day, the government has planned to host free movie screening. The free movie screening will be hosted on 26th July, 2019, at 10 a.m. in all theaters of Maharashtra. Film distributers, cinema theatre owners, film organizations have agreed for same considering this as a responsibility towards the country. Every Indian will feel proud on this Kargil Vijay Diwas in reality.
The procedure regarding free screening will be followed through the Collector in
every district. Shri. Nilangekar gave the instructions regarding organizing preparatory meetings of all theatre owners and principals of the colleges in the district, under the presidency of Collector for the successful screening. Circulars regarding the programme will
be sent to all collector offices by the government.
