UP: section 144 (CrPC) imposes till January 30

The Uttar Pradesh government has imposed section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) in Mathura ahead of the Babri Mosque demolition. The Administration gave this information on Sunday.

In UP’s Muzaffarnagar district, the administration has imposed prohibitory orders in the district till January 30 under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) to maintain law and order.

Section 144 CrPC prohibits the assembly of four or more people in a specific area.

In view of important events like Christmas, Republic Day, Shri Guru Gobind Singh’s birth anniversary and former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh’s birth anniversary, law and order will prevail in the district.
