The post-mortem report of Apple executive Vivek Tiwari, who was allegedly shot dead by patrolling policemen on September 29 in Lucknow, has revealed that he died due to a gunshot injury and not due to the accident.
During the preliminary investigation, the accused cop, in his defence, had claimed that that he shot at Vivek in self-defence as he was trying to reverse his car after trying to ram it into his bike.
According to the reports, the bullet was fired from the front at point-blank range.
Vivek Tiwari was admitted to the hospital at 2:05 am on early Sunday morning and breathed his last at around 2:25 am.
Tiwari, an employee with multinational technology company Apple, was shot dead by policemen in Lucknow on Saturday. His killing has pointed fingers at the Yogi Adityanath-led UP government’s ability to handle law and order situation in the state.
Uttar Pradesh Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has promised that his government will provide all assistance to the family of Vivek Tiwari and said that “such criminal offences will not be accepted by the government.”
