Two women from a state-run shelter in Patna died under mysterious circumstances. A 40-year-old woman and an 18-year-old girl from the Asra shelter home in Patna died on Friday night in the Patna Medical College and Hospital.
While the shelter home claimed the women died during the treatment at Patna Medical College, the hospital authorities said the women were brought dead. Neither the police nor the Social Welfare Department was informed of the incident.
A police team along with department officials reportedly visited the shelter home and have interrogated the staff.
It is to be noted that 44 girls were rescued from a shelter home in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur after it was found out that they were being abused and raped by the owner of the NGO, Brajesh Thakur with many of his accomplices.
And in a similar case, 24 girls have been rescued from a shelter home in Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh on August 6, after found to be allegedly involved in human trafficking.
