Two terrorists killed in North Kashmir’s Sopore, arms and ammunition seized

Two terrorists were killed on Thursday in an encounter with security forces in North Kashmir’s Sopore area of Baramulla district, according to officials. 

The joint operation, conducted by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, began Thursday night following intelligence about suspicious activity in the region.

Kashmir Zone Police shared an update on X, stating, “Two terrorists have been neutralized in the Sopore encounter. Identification and affiliation are being verified. Incriminating materials, arms, and ammunition have been recovered.”

According to officials, the operation was launched after receiving specific information about the presence of terrorists in Panipora, Sopore. During the search, an exchange of gunfire ensued, leading to the elimination of the terrorists, the officials said.
