Two terrorists were killed on Saturday in an encounter with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Kashmir Zone Police said the security forces have killed two terrorists and the search operation is still going on.
Chinar corps-Indian Army in a tweet said, “Two terrorists eliminated. One AK & One Pistol recovered. Joint Operation in progress.
The encounter broke out on Friday evening at Kanigam area of Shopian. The security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area following information about the presence of terrorists there.
As the security forces were conducting the searches, the terrorists fired upon them. The forces retaliated, resulting in an encounter.
Kashmir Zone Police tweeted on Friday, “#Encounter has started at #Kanigam area of #Shopian. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow.”
“Op Kanigam, Shopian Jt operation was launched today afternoon based on own sources. Cordon was laid & Contact established. Jt operation in progress,” Army had tweeted.
