Two terrorists were killed on Saturday in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Police have recovered arms and ammunition from the site of encounter.
Kashmir Zone Police in a tweet said, “#PulwamaEncounterUpdate: 02 unidentified #terrorists killed. #Incriminating materials, #arms & ammunition including 02 AK rifles recovered. Search going on. Further details shall follow.”
The encounter broke out at Dadoora area of Pulwama. Security forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation in the area following inputs about the presence of the terrorists there.
As per Jammu and Kashmir police, Lashkar-e-Taiba’s (LeT) top commander Zahid Nazir Bhat also known as Zahid Tiger killed in the Pulwama encounter. This is the second encounter in Jammu and Kashmir in less than 12 hours.

Chinar Corps-Indian Army in a tweet said, “Op Dadoora, Pulwama. Joint Operation was launched today afternoon based on @JmuKmrPolice inputs. Cordon was laid and contact was established. Firefight ensued. Two terrorists eliminated. Two AKs recovered. Joint Operation in progress.”
