Sabrina Lal, the sister of Jessica Lal, who was shot dead in Delhi in April 1999, has now said that she has no objection to the release of her sister’s (Jessica Lal’s) killer, Siddharth Vashishta (he is the son of former Union Minister Venod Sharma) alias Manu Sharma.
Sabrina said, “I would like to state I have no objection to his release, owing to the fact that he has spent 15 years in jail.”
She added, “He has served his sentences and I am done with it… In my own mind I have forgiven him.”
Manu Sharma convict in Jessica Lal murder case had found guilty in the murder case in 2006, and sentenced him to life imprisonment. Sharma had opened fire at Jesssica when she refused to serve him alcohol at a restaurant in south Delhi.
Sabrina wrote a letter in response to the jail officer’s letter to her regarding compensation and release of Manu Sharma convicted in FIR no 287/1999 under section 302 IPC. She wrote that she has been told that in this period while Manu was in Jail he has been doing good work for charity and helping inmates.
