Three terrorists killed in separate encounters in Jammu and Kashmir

Three terrorists were killed in two separate encounters in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said. The encounters began following a joint operation by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir police, prompted by suspected terrorist movement.

According to the army’s Srinagar-based Chinar Corps, intelligence inputs led to the operation on the night of August 28-29 in the Machhil area, where two terrorists were likely killed. Another terrorist was killed in an encounter in Tangdhar sector after an infiltration attempt was intercepted. Security forces have also launched a new operation in Rajouri district’s Lathi area following reports of terrorist presence. All operations are ongoing.
