Three people died after being run over by a train near Nangloi railway station in Delhi on October 29. The deceased have not yet been identified.
Further legal action is under process.
Northern Railway Spokesperson Deepak Kumar said, “The incident happened around 7.15 a.m. when they were trying to cross the railway track near Nangloi and were run over by the Bikaner-Delhi Express.”
Northern Railways stated, the Railway Protection Force along with ground staff, Government Railway Police and local police are present at the spot and were looking into the matter.
The incident comes in the aftermath of the tragic Amritsar train mishap that claimed the lives of 61 people when they were standing on railway tracks to watch a Dussehra event.
According to official data, in the past three years, nearly 50,000 people lost their lives after being hit by trains.
