Terrorists attack CRPF post in Anantnag, 2 security personnel injured

Two security personnel suffered injuries on August 3 when terrorists hurled a grenade on the CRPF party deployed at State Bank of India branch at Lal Chowk in Anantnag District, police said.

According to reports militants also opened fire at CRPF post and CRPF personnel retaliated the attack leading to brief exchange of fire.

Following the attack security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a hunt for the attackers, police official said.

A CRPF man and a policeman were injured in the attack, official confirmed. The injured were identified as Surinder Singh, son of Bindeshwar Singh and Special police officer Mudasir Ahmad Dar, son of Asadullah Dar.

Kashmir is witnessing rise in militant attacks in past few days, in a similar attack on August 2 militants snatched away a 12 bore rifle from a security guard posted at the Jammu and Kashmir Bank in Anantnag’s Brakpora area and on August 1 similar kind of incident was reported in Kulgam District.
