A man from Telangana was shot dead outside his residence by a teenager in the United States in a carjacking incident, his relatives said on Saturday.
Sunil Edla, 61, was killed by a 16-year-old boy in Ventnor City in New Jersey at around 8 pm on November 15 local time.
Edla was working as a night auditor in hospitality industry in Atlantic City.
According to the reports, the teen shot Edla when he was leaving his home to work on an overnight shift. The accused later fled with his car and the victim died on the spot.
The police tracked the boy and arrested him. He was charged with murder, robbery, carjacking, and unlawful possession of a handgun.
Elda, who is from Medak district of Telangana had migrated to the US in 1987.
