The Narcotics Control Bureau on Tuesday took Rhea Chakraborty into their custody after days of questioning in connection with drugs-related allegations in the Sushant Singh Rajput case.
The 28-year-old actor will now be produce before the court, along with three other arrested accused. The NCB is likely to file a plea before the court seeking that they need to keep all four in police remand for further questioning, sources said.
BJP National Executive Member Kirit Somaiya reacted to the news of Chakraborty’s arrest and in a tweet said, “#RheaChakroborty arrested. Thackeray Sarkar/Pariwar must be worrying who next could be arrested Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh & Mumbai Police Commissioner must be Sacked 4 derailing diverting investigation of #SushantSinghRajput from Day One.”
Earlier in the day, Rhea had gone to the NCB office for further questioning for the third consecutive day.
She was named as an accused in the CBI investigation into Sushant Singh Rajput’s death on June 14.
