Statue of Unity: Home Minister Rajnath Singh flags off ‘Run for Unity’ in Delhi

Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Wednesday flag off “Run for Unity” in Delhi on 143rd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Gymnast Dipa Karmakar among other sportsperson were also present at the event.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday will inaugurate the world’s tallest statue dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary in Gujarat.

The statue that is called “statue of unity” keeping in mind the contribution of Sardar Patel in the merger of all princely states with the Dominion of India. 

The statue of Patel, fondly remembered as the Iron Man of India, is at a staggering height of 182-metre. It will be the world’s tallest, located at a river islet. 

Meanwhile, ‘Run for unity’ events are organised on Wednesday across the nation to honour the Iron Man of India.
