Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi will hold meeting with senior party leaders on Friday, a day after the results of Assembly polls in Maharashtra and Haryana will be out.
The meeting will take place at the residence of Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi.
Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Ahmed Patel, KC Venugopal among several other senior leaders of the party will be present at the meeting, sources said.
Assembly Elections in Maharashtra and Haryana have concluded on October 21. The results will be announced on October 24.
Several Exit polls have predicted landslide victory for the BJP in the Assembly elections in the two states.
An aggregate of many exit polls predicted that the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance may win 211 of the state’s 288 seats and the Congress-Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) combine might manage to win 64 seats. In Haryana, the BJP is likely to win 66 of 90 seats, whereas the Congress is likely to win just 14 seats.
However, the Congress has so far rejected the exit polls prediction.
